Whilst a current 70% of each collection is constructed from consciously sourced materials, each piece maintains the signature Aje feel of luxurious quality and does not compromise on performance or wearability. Creative Directors Adrian Norris and Edwina Forest prioritise creating collections that leave a minimal footprint on the environment, which is why their sustainability-led athleticwear incorporates a mix of recycled, organic and eco-friendly fibres. Fabrics including recycled polyester, recycled nylon and organic cotton are recreated from discarded materials that would have otherwise circulated through landfill or the ocean, providing them a second life. AJE ATHLETICA also utilises a biodegradable, 100% compostable polybag for packaging to support their endeavours towards a more sustainable future. Despite being recycled, no compromise is made on the durability and stretch within the fibres. Moisture wicking properties also quickly transfer perspiration to the top layer of the fibre, promoting the textile’s fast drying technology. The fibres in recycled nylon are recreated from discarded industrial materials including fishing nets; a solution to divert rubbish from the ecosystem of our oceans.
